European Union diplomatic sources in Brussels are expressing surprise over "rumors'' that nuclear talks between the EU3 and Iran have been postponed.

Speaking to IRNA Thursday on condition of anonymity, the sources said diplomats from Germany, France, the UK (EU3) and a representative of EU High Representative for a Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana will meet Iranian diplomats in London Friday evening to review the progress made so far.

Solana himself refuted media reports which claimed that the EU has called for a postponement of nuclear talks with Iran till the June 17 presidential elections in the Islamic Republic.

"Till this moment I have no information that they have been postponed. The meeting will take place probably on the 29th of this month," Solana told reporters in Luxembourg during a joint press conference with Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri Wednesday afternoon.

Iran and the EU-3 ended last week the latest round of nuclear negotiations held in Geneva with one official saying that the two sides were satisfied with the results the negotiations.

The big three EU states are leading the 25-member European bloc's initiative on Iran's nuclear program.
