Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri on Wednesday called Iran a 'very good friend' and underlined his country's support to a peaceful resolution of the Islamic Republic's nuclear issue.
"Iran is a good neighbor and a very good friend of Pakistan, so we want a peaceful resolution of the nuclear issue and Pakistan will give all its support to EU efforts for a peaceful resolution of this issue," Kasuri told a press conference here after talks with the European Union troika.
Regarding the Iran oil pipeline to India via Pakistan, Kasuri said India's oil minister would be visiting Pakistan in May and they will look at the details of the project.
Once they have studied the details they will meet their Iranian counterpart, he said.
"When we were in Delhi it was agreed that India and Pakistan would look into it jointly," Kasuri noted.
Pakistan has proposed to India to allow it access to gas coming from Central Asia and Qatar, he said.
On his part, Jean Asselborn, Luxembourg's foreign minister, said the EU side informed Pakistan about its efforts to find a diplomatic solution concerning Iran's nuclear program.
He described talks with Kasuri as 'very fruitful'.
Luxembourg currently holds the rotating EU Presidency.
"EU attaches great importance to ties with Pakistan," said Asselborn.
