Russia hopes Iran-Europe talks bear positive results

Moscow, April 19, IRNA
Russia-Iran-Mousavian
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov here Monday expressed hope nuclear talks between Iran and the EU big trio would entail positive outcome.

In a meeting with Head of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hossein Mousavian, Lavrov voiced his country's interest to witness positive developments in Iran's nuclear talks with the three European states (Germany, Britain, and France).

Russia's policy regarding Iran-EU talks is based on
non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and preparing grounds for Iran's peaceful use of nuclear energy, the minister said.

Mousavian, for his part, referred to Russia as a major partner of Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, saying "the Islamic Republic of Iran will not abandon its legal and inalienable rights in full use of nuclear technology."
He pointed to Iran's full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and added that the confidence-building measures taken by Tehran were enough to remove concerns of the international community.

Mousavian arrived here on Monday to hold talks with Russian senior officials. He will leave Moscow for Tehran on Tuesday.
