Iran not to admit permanent enrichment suspension at any cost

Iran's chief nuclear negotiator and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hassan Rowhani here on Tuesday said that Iran will not admit permanent suspension of uranium enrichment at any cost.

He made the remarks during a meeting between members of the Assembly of Experts and Chairman of the Expediency Council (EC) Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

Rowhani, who is also a member of the Assembly of Experts, elaborated on the the trend of nuclear talks between the Iranian delegation and representatives of the EU Troika of Germany, Britain and France.

He stressed Iran's determination to make use of peaceful nuclear energy in various fields as its legitimate right.

"US is to hamper the trend of confidence-building between Iran and the European states," Rowhani said.

He added that Iran will continue its logical talks with EU.

EC Chairman Rafsanjani expressed hope that the nuclear talks would move towards preserving the interests of the Islamic Republic.

The two-day 13th official session of the third term of the Assembly of Experts kicked off at the former premises of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) on Tuesday.
