Asefi terms Bush`s anti-Iran claims as "distortion of realities"
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, March 9, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi on Wednesday ruled out the US President George W. Bush`s anti-Iran claims, calling them "distortion of realities and disinformation campaign." Asefi said that America`s all-out support for Israel`s state terrorism is so explicit and disgraceful that leaves no room for the US to make any comment on terrorism. He said the arrogant nature of the US is a big obstacle preventing the country from seeing the realities or making a sound assessment of developments in the region. He referred to the million-strong public demonstrations in Lebanon and said the time has come for the US president to open his eyes to realities, end instrumental use of the concept of terrorism, refrain from giving the terrorism label to the freedom seeking nations and stop following Zionists` discriminatory ideas. Touching on the US officials` repeated allegations against Iran`s peaceful nuclear activities, Asefi said use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is the common goal of the Iranian nation and Iran`s ational will in that concern is unchangeable and irrevocable. He stressed that the US government should respect the legitimate rights and general demand of the Iranian nation and stop its futile efforts to divide the Iranian people. 1420/1412
