Bush Calls Idea of U.S. Attack On Iran 'Ridiculous'
22 February 2005 -- U.S. President George W. Bush today forcefully dismissed the idea that Washington is planning to attack Iran to keep the government in Tehran from developing nuclear arms.
Bush spoke in Brussels today after he met for 90 minutes at a summit with the 25 European Union leaders.
"This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack is Iran is simply ridiculous," he said. "Having said that, all options are on the table [laughter]."
Bush noted that European countries have been negotiating with Tehran to seek a peaceful end to its uranium-enrichment activities.
