IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Moscow, Feb 18, IRNA -- Russia`s Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov here
Friday stressed the importance of adopting peaceful strategies to
settle Iran`s nuclear issue and avoiding non-diplomatic ways.
In a meeting with visiting Iranian Secretary of Supreme National
Security Council Hassan Rowhani, Ivanov expressed his country`s
readiness to boost all-out cooperation with Iran.

country`s peaceful nuclear issue as unchangeable.
Rowhani, for his part, said Iran and Russia enjoy common stance

presence of foreign forces and added expansion of NATO to East would
result in instability in the region which runs counter with national
interests of regional states.

use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes based on international
regulations and termed as unacceptable any discriminatory attitude
and pressure against Iran to make the country withdraw its inalienable
right.

bring instability for that country and the region and expressed hope
the Iraqi nation would determine their fate through withdrawal of the
forces.
During the meeting, the sides explored avenues for bolstering
bilateral cooperation in all fields regarding an upcoming visit by
Russian President Vladimir Putin to Iran.
Ivanov and Rowhani also discussed Iran`s decisive role in
anti-drug campaign, the two countries` common stance on Iraq and
Afghanistan and the urgency of non-presence of foreign forces in the
region.
