Kharrazi: Iran to continue nuclear talks with EU3

Luxembourg, Feb 16, IRNA -- Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi in a meeting here with Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Junker on Tuesday appreciated Junker`s rejection of US threats against Iran and stressed that Iran will continue its nuclear talks with the three EU members. During the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments as well as the current Iran-EU3 negotiations. For his part, Junker referred to Iran as a strategically significant country and said that it plays a crucial role in regional developments. Meanwhile, Kharrazi and the President of Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies Lucien Weiler in a meeting on Tuesday evening discussed ways of broadening mutual relations and inter-parliamentary collaboration. In the meeting, Luxembourg`s parliamentary head underlined that his country will support Iran`s right to peaceful use of nuclear energy. Weiler welcomed expansion of parliamentary ties and referred to bilateral talks in line with the interests of both sides as positive and fruitful. For his part, Kharrazi hoped that the current Iran-EU3 talks will be conducted within logic and away from unilateral concerns to help Iran continue the current trend of being transparent in its nuclear program. Meanwhile, in another meeting with the head and members of Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies Foreign Policy Commission on Wednesday, Kharrazi referred to the various challenges currently facing the region and stressed that Iran places a special focus on them. 2326/2322/1432
