IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Feb 10, IRNA -- Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Hassan Rowhani said on Thursday that negotiations is the only way for settlement of Iran`s nuclear issue with the west. "No one has offered the nuclear technology to us, rather Iranian youth have developed this technology by unsparing efforts," he said addressing a gathering of the marchers in Mashhad city, in northeastern province of Razavi Khorassan on the 26th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. "Neither the western states nor the military attack could deprive Iranian nation of their internationally recognized rights", he noted referring to the US threats against Iran`s nuclear sites. He added that the specialized international agency has confirmed the legitimate path Iran has adopted for civilian nuclear program. "According to the religion, humanitarian principles and national strategy, Iran has not been after producing nuclear weapons," Rowhani said. "Iran enjoys the right of possession of nuclear technology in line with the international conventions and the Iranian nation insists on its legitimate right," said Rowhani. Pointing to various plots hatched by the world arrogance, the US, accusing Iran of manufacturing nuclear arms, he said, "The US plots have been thwarted on time and the respective international agency has dismissed the US allegations. It is natural that the US is angry with Iran." "The recent threats made by the US President George Bush is not something new and we got used to such threats", he stressed. 1405/1416
