Younesi stresses Iran`s right to develop peaceful nuclear energy

Tehran, Feb 10, IRNA -- Minister of Information Ali Younesi said here on Thursday that Iran will by no means give up its legitimate right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. Younesi who was among those participating in the rallies marking the 26th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, told IRNA that the government`s policy is based on guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and peaceful use of nuclear energy. A large number of the country`s statesmen, military personnel, and a group of Majlis deputies are taking part in the rallies this morning. In Tehran, marchers who proceed towards the Azadi square carry portraits of the Father of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, as well as those of President Mohammad Khatami. Meanwhile, the war disabled sitting on their wheelchairs have a significant presence in the rallies. They chant slogans such as "death to the US" and "down with Israel". 1422/1432
