IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Chenaran, Razavi Khorassan Prov., Feb 9, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Gholamali Haddad-Adel said here Wednesday that the US threats and pressures on Iran over nuclear technology are due to Iran`s independence. Addressing a group of local people, Haddad-Adel said Iran does not obey the US and had it done so, its nuclear case would have been closed alike other states whose nuclear activities were subject to argument so far. The Speaker said independence had been among basic slogans of Iranian people at the beginning of the Islamic Revolution. "That`s why the enemies, being aware that Iran would not bow to any power and considering the fact that it has become a model for other states, are threatening the Islamic state through different ways." He said what made Iranian people call for independence and freedom was the feeling that they were fed up with foreign hostility to national sovereignty. Thanks to the Islamic Revolution Iranian people are living in a free atmosphere and anyone has the right to raise his/her opinion, said Haddad-Adel. 1420/1416
