Return of spent nuclear fuel should follow commercial terms: Moscow

Moscow, Feb 7, IRNA -- Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Atomic Power Alexander Rumyantev is to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran in the second half of February to study economic terms for the return of spent nuclear fuel from Bushehr to Russia. According to the Russian news agency, Ria Novosti, Iran has declared that is not to pay any sum for return of spent nuclear fuel to Russia. But the Russia atomic energy organization has said that the return of the spent nuclear fuel should be in line with the country`s economic rules and regulations, said the news agency. Spokesman of Iran`s Foreign Ministry Hamid Reza Asefi has said that Iran and Russia has reached agreement on the issue, the news agency said. Experts from the two sides are now preparing draft prior to signing the relative protocol which is in its final stages, Asefi has said. Bushehr nuclear power plants which is under construction by Russian expert is to become operational next year. 1430/2322/1432
