Kharrazi to outline Iran`s peaceful nuclear program

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 7, IRNA -- Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said here Monday he will brief senior Malaysian officials on the trend of Iran`s peaceful nuclear program. Talking to IRNA, Kharrazi said he will hold talks with Malaysian officials on the trend of nuclear negotiations with European states as well as international issues which would be raised on non-proliferation of nuclear technology in the near future. "Talks on avenues for bolstering political, economic and trade ties are among other issues of mutual interest," he said. The Iranian foreign minister further said that rebuilding the United Nations` structure, increasing members of the UN Security Council and the ongoing developments in the council are among other issues to be discussed. He stressed Malaysia, which holds the rotating presidency of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), can play a very important role in making further coordination between the two organizations to reach a common stance. Iran`s Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi arrived here Monday morning on an official visit to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments. During his stay here, the Iranian foreign minister is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his Malaysian counterpart as well as other senior officials on exploring avenues for bolstering bilateral political and economic ties. 2327/1432
