Rowhani: Iran to continue progressive talks with Europe
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Kermanshah, Feb 3, IRNA -- Iran will continue talks with the European delegation as long as it feels the negotiations are progressive, are in line with the goals and are oriented towards settlement of issues, Iran`s chief nuclear negotiator said here Thursday. "As we have said since the beginning, the talks will not take long. As far as time is concerned, what`s of importance for us is "month not year"; so the talks cannot last for a long period," Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Hassan Rowhani told IRNA here Thursday. "The basis of our criticism over the trend of talks is that in certain committees, the European side does not show the degree of seriousness in terms of content as we expect." "What we mean by speed in the trend of talks is not the time rather the speed major issues are raised," he added. The SNSC Secretary stated that the third round of talks with the European side will open within few days, adding, on the whole, the trend of talks has not been relatively bad in the three rounds of negotiations held over the past two months. "The talks are not a principle for us," said Rowhani, adding, "Since national interests and goals are a principle for us, we will continue the talks as long as they are in line with our goals." Shifting to the International Atomic Energy Agency`s (IAEA) recent inspections of Parchin site, Rowhani said, "It is a little a bit early to announce the results of the inspections because usually, it takes more than one month to declare the outcomes of such inspections." 2327/1420
