Deputy FM: US threat against Iran not worth commenting on
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Kuala Lumpur, Jan 27, IRNA -- The recent US threats against Iran are not worth commenting on, said Iran`s Deputy Foreign Minister Gholam Ali Khoshru in Malaysia on Thursday. "The US uses rhetoric against Iran whenever it sees that Tehran is becoming more powerful in the international scene and is improving its relations with other countries," Khoshru told IRNA on the sidelines of the ongoing meeting of scholars from the Organization the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Putrajaya, Malaysia. He argued that expansion of Tehran`s relations with Asian states, continuation of its talks with the Europeans and the International Atomic Energy Agency`s (IAEA) positive stand on Iran caused Washington to feel internationally isolated and consequently, react by threatening Iran. Rejecting US unilateral policies, the deputy minister said, "All world countries oppose US unilateralism and instead, support multilateral policies under the supervision of the United Nations (UN)." Noting that US recent rhetoric were nothing new, Khoshru added that Iran would follow its policy of promoting ties with world countries and not be afraid of any threat of such kind since they are made due to Iran`s strengthening in the international stage. 1394/2322/1432
