ElBaradei: Iran permits IAEA`s inspectors to inspect Parchin military site

Vienna, Jan 5, IRNA -- Head of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei said here Wednesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has agreed the IAEA`s inspectors visiting Parchin military site in the southeast of Tehran. Speaking to IRNA, an official at ElBaradei`s office said that upon Iran`s acceptance, IAEA`s inspector will visit the military site in the near future. The exact date and details of the inspections have not been announced as this requires coordination with Iranian officials, ElBaradei said. The IAEA chief had earlier called for the inspection of the site in an official letter sent to Iran. According to agreement reached between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the IAEA, the agency`s inspectors were only authorized to inspect non-military zones. 1430/2322/1432
