Lavrov: Russia supports expansion of Iran`s peaceful nuclear activities

Moscow, Dec 17, IRNA -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said here on Thursday his country was ready to build new nuclear power plants for Iran. During a meeting with Iran`s concurrent Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and Iranian head of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission Safdar Hosseini, Lavrov supported Iran`s measures toward development of its nuclear programs. He also expressed satisfaction and praised the outcome of recent negotiations with European countries and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The two sides discussed mutual economic ties and the results of their fifth joint economic commission meeting in Moscow.
