German diplomat: IAEA resolution on Iran, very positive
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Nov 30, IRNA -- A European diplomat here on Tuesday referred to the IAEA resolution on Iran as very positive and very important. Talking to IRNA, the German diplomat stressed that despite the existing dispute between Tehran and Washington, all member countries of the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors reached a consensus on the resolution. According to the IAEA final resolution, Iran`s case will be taken out of the board`s agenda, he said, adding that this is a very positive point. Another positive point of the resolution is that it calls on Tehran to act within the framework of the additional protocol, the German diplomat told IRNA on the condition of anonymity. The resolution also welcomes Iran`s decision to continue suspension of uranium enrichment and reprocessing activities, he added. The resolution, in its 3rd paragraph, urges Iran to ratify the additional protocol as soon as possible, he said, adding that since the European countries consider the additional protocol as a basic element of the safeguards, ratification of the protocol by Iran is very important. Iran and the European trio (Britain, France, Germany) will resume their talks on the basis of the Paris agreement as of December 15, he said, adding that the negotiations will be held in Tehran or Brussels. 1422/2322/1432
