China backs IAEA resolution on Iran`s nuclear programs
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Beijing, Nov 30, IRNA -- Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao said on Tuesday that China backed IAEA Board of Governors` resolution on Iranian nuclear programs. "China is sure that the resolution will contribute to resolving the Tehran issue within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," He told IRNA, during his weekly news briefing. He added that the resolution will consolidate the international treaty banning proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The resolution will secure other countries` rights to peaceful use of nuclear energy under supervision of the international community, he added. IAEA Board of Governors issued a resolution on Monday, affirming the temporary suspension of Iran`s uranium enrichment program. China has declared its opposition to referral of Iranian dossier to the United Nation Security Council, believing the nuclear issue should be resolved within the framework of IAEA and through negotiations. 2331/1412
