Moussavian rejects New York Times report
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Nov 29, IRNA -- The Spokesman of the Iranian delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors, Hossein Moussavian, here on Monday said that Tehran has not dropped its demands regarding operation of its 20 centrifuges. Talking to IRNA, he rejected a report by the American daily New York Times, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran has not given up its demands for operation of its 20 centrifuges. New York Times reported on Sunday that Iran has backed off a demand for operating uranium enrichment equipment, quoting European and Iranian officials. "The retreat came in the form of a letter from Iran on Sunday to the International Atomic Energy Agency. In the letter, Iran withdrew its demand to operate 20 centrifuges -uranium enrichment machines - for research and development purposes," the daily added. "We have informed the agency that the 20 centrifuges should not be sealed and will go under the agency`s inspection," he added. The IAEA Board of Governors will resume talks on Iran`s nuclear case Monday afternoon. 1422/1412
