IAEA waiting for Iran`s letter - says IAEA spokeswoman
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Nov 27, IRNA -- The IAEA is waiting for Iran`s letter to take back its demand on exemption of 20 uranium enrichment centrifuges from the suspension rule, the agency spokeswoman Melissa Fleming said here Saturday. Iran demanded an exemption for some 20 centrifuges for research purposes, a move European countries have rejected as a `red line`. The IAEA meeting in Vienna was adjourned until Monday to study Iran`s nuclear case, Fleming told IRNA. "All sides need more time. So meeting was postponed until Monday," she added. Meanwhile, a senior Iranian diplomat said on Friday evening, "Neither in writing nor orally, did I tell the IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei that Iran would overlook its demand for exemption of 20 centrifuges from suspension rule." It is expected that the dispute over the centrifuges will be solved through consultations. 1405/1412
