IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Brussels, Nov 25, IRNA -- Russian President Vladimir Putin called Thursday for the closing of the Iranian dossier at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and underlined Moscow`s continued support for the Islamic Republic`s peaceful nuclear programme. "We believe that a great progress has been achieved regarding removing the Iranian dossier and we will be negotiating with Iran on bilateral basis," Putin told a press conference in the Hague at the end of an EU-Russian summit Thursday afternoon. "We will be supporting them in developing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and when final agreements would be concluded we intend to further develop that cooperation," he underlined. Putin said "we support and welcome the statements from Iran that they will suspend the production of fuel." "Today there was another announcement of the Iranian representatives on that score... and I think that all these problems will be addressed on the experts` level," Putin said. The Netherlands currently holds the EU Presidency. NK/1416
