Europeans may reconsider draft resolution on Iran
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Nov 24, IRNA -- A western diplomat said here on Wednesday that there is a possibility for the European Union (EU) members to reconsider their proposed draft resolution on Iran`s nuclear activities. Talking to IRNA, the diplomat said that several changes would be made in the draft resolution. Meanwhile, a member of the Iranian delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors told IRNA that the draft lacks a legal framework. Instead of paying more ttention to the present and future status, the draft considers the past events, he added. In related developments, Malaysian Ambassador and Head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to the IAEA Board of Governors, Hussain Ghulam Haniff said here Tuesday evening that requests on Iran`s nuclear activities should be within the framework of the on-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its Additional Protocol. "We follow what is based on the NPT and we do not accept what is beyond it," he added. 1422/1412
