Iranian diplomat says "permanent suspension" not in the European draft resolution
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Nov 23, IRNA -- An Iranian diplomat said here Tuesday that the term "permanent suspension" does not appear in the draft resolution prepared by European countries on Monday. The diplomat, who was talking to IRNA on condition of anonymity, however believes that although the words "sustained suspension" cannot be interpreted to mean "permanent suspension" by Iran of all enrichment and reprocessing activities, a reading of the entire paragraph would give such impression. Article two of the draft "calls on Iran to suspend" enrichment activities and underscores the Board`s understanding that a "full and sustained suspension" would be the confidence-building measure essential to resolving all outstanding issues within the framework of the agency. The draft resolution prepared by the European states was submitted to member states of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on Monday. 1422/2321/1432
