Russia has no evidence on Iran`s nuclear warheads: says Russian FM
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Moscow, Nov 21, IRNA -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said here Sunday that his country has no evidence or information suggesting that Iran produce nuclear warheads. Iran`s nuclear programs are in line with international and peaceful regulations, Russian news agency Interfax quoted Lavrov as saying. In Russia-US talks, there is no room for the issue of Iran`s nuclear warheads which has recently been raised, he added. In the latest US allegations, US Secretary of State Colin Powell claimed that Washington has information suggesting that Iran is seeking to adapt its missiles to carry nuclear warheads. "Powell`s remarks were so baseless," top Iranian national security official and nuclear negotiator Hassan Rowhani told state television. "I think Powell himself realized his mistake. I think Powell fell into a trap and has again given himself a bad name." Powell is to be formally replaced as secretary of state by US National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice once her nomination is approved by the Senate. 1405/2322/1432
