Kharrazi: Some of MPs not justified about Iran-EU deal
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Nov 16, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said here Wednesday that a number of deputies at the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) have not been justified about the recent Iran-EU nuclear deal. Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Kharrazi told reporters that the reason for opposition of a number of Majlis deputies towards the deal was probably that they have not been "fully aware of the history" of Iran`s talks with the other side or with "the delicate legal points of the deal." They (the lawmakers) should be completely justified about the issue, suggested the foreign minister. As for the presence of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hassan Rowhani in today`s session of the Majlis, Kharrazi expressed hope that Rowhani`s comments and his explanations to the Majlis over the Iran-EU deal which was signed by the two sides on Nov 14, would lead to the complete justification of the opposing MPs. Reacting to the assignment of Condoleezza Rice as the US new Secretary of State, Kharrazi said "Rice has so far been serving as the US national security advisor and this is different from being a foreign minister. We should wait and see what policy they (the Bush administration) will follow in their second term." However, argued the minister, "We are waiting to see whether she is still to follow her previous hostile policy or will change her attitude. We will be watching." 1394/1432
