Paris agreement embodies Iranian nuclear position: Rowhani
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Nov 16, IRNA -- The nuclear deal reached between Iran and the European Union`s Big 3 -- France, Germany, Britain -- in Paris embodies Iran`s nuclear principles, Supreme Security Council secretary Hassan Rowhani said here Tuesday. Talking to reporters after after Majlis`s close-door and unofficial session, Rowhani informed that the next meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors on November 25 will prove whether the Europeans are committed to the Paris agreement or not. "Europe has already called on Iran to approve the Additional Protocol in 2005 and has asked the government to submit the pertinent bill to Majlis in the same year. "Europe, in its primary draft, seeks a permanent halt for an unlimited and unspecified duration of Iran`s uranium enrichment activities. They want long-term suspension," Iran`s pointman on nuclear issues said. Rowhani, moreover, stressed that in the preliminary draft of the agreement, "the Europeans did not mention that Iran suspend (uranium enrichment) voluntarily and also raised unresolved issues pertaining to Iran`s nuclear dossier in the IAEA." "The eight points we insisted on were almost totally accepted today, but discussions on the issues prolonged the negotiations," he stated. 2327/2321/1432
