No unlimited suspension of uranium enrichment: says Rowhani

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 15, IRNA -- Iran is not obliged to overlook the benefits
of nuclear energy and power plants on the justification that it is
rich in oil and gas, Iran`s chief nuclear official Hassan Rowhani said
Monday.
Europe, Non-Aligned countries, Russia and China oppose the
referral of Iran`s nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council, Rowhani
said in a press conference, broadcast live on state TV, in response to
a question raised by the CNN correspondent on referral of the nuclear
case to the Security Council.
Among the 35 member states of the IAEA Board of Governors, 12 from
the Europe, 12 from the Non-Aligned states, Brazil, Russia and China
do not agree to the referral of Iran`s nuclear dossier to the UN
Security Council, said Rowhani, adding, "Only three member states of
the Board of Governors oppose to the EU-Iran nuclear agreement.
Though, their approaches will have no impact on the case."
Commenting on the upcoming Iran-Europe cooperation in various
fields, Rowhani said that a long list of areas for future Iran-Europe
cooperation has been drafted.
"Providing Iran with non-military aircraft, economic cooperation
and investment are among the topics on the list."
Turning to China`s and Russia`s involvement in the nuclear talks
and their future cooperation with Iran, Rowhani said that Russian and
Chinese foreign ministers recently visited Iran and some detailed
talks were held.
He expressed hope that China and Russia will be active in the next
meeting of the UN nuclear watchdog.
The UN watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, meets on
November 25 to discuss Iran`s nuclear program.
The ground is well prepared for developing relations with Russia
and China given the situation, Rowhani said.
Elsewhere, in response to a question by Abu Dhabi TV correspondent
on any connection between the (nuclear) talks and the Middle East
peace process, Rowhani said that the Middle East peace process was not
raised in the current talks with the Europe.
