Fischer reports no breakthrough yet on Iran-EU nuclear talks

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Berlin, Nov 11, IRNA -- German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer said
Thursday there had been no breakthrough yet in the ongoing nuclear
negotiations between Iran and the European Union trio (Germany,
Britain and France).
"We (Europeans) have succeeded in moving ahead with the talks but
I still cannot tell you that we have made a breakthrough," Fischer
said in his speech to the German Parliament.
"The current state of affairs is that we still have not been able
to conclude the talks," added the minister who conceded that the
negotiations `have been anything but easy`.
He reaffirmed Iran`s `sovereign right` to use nuclear energy for
civilian purposes.
Fischer stressed the European Union`s main political objective was
to have `good relations with Iran` which would also encompass economic
and technological cooperation.
