German FM hopes for "positive" outcome of Iran-EU nuclear talks
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Berlin, Nov 10, IRNA -- German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer voiced cautious optimism on chances of a positive outcome emerging from the ongoing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the European Union Big 3 (Germany, Britain and France). "The (nuclear) talks are tough. The mistrust towards Iran is justifiably great; however, a positive result is possible," Fischer said Wednesday in an interview with the weekly Stern magazine. Meanwhile, a senior German government official called last Friday`s nuclear negotiations between Iran and the EU "useful". "The talks on Friday (in Paris) were difficult but useful," the deputy spokeswoman of the German Foreign Ministry, Antje Leendertse said earlier in Berlin. Iran has remained unwavering on European demands for an indefinite suspension of its uranium enrichment program, arguing that it would infringe on its legitimate right to pursue a nuclear program for peaceful purposes.
