Iran to offer proposals to European trio
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Oct 20, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi here Wednesday announced that Iran, during its meeting with the European trio on Thursday, will offer some proposals. Iran and the European trio (Britain, France, Germany) will hold a meeting on Thursday in Vienna to review Iran`s nuclear activities. Kharrazi, who declined to elaborate on Iran`s proposals, said, "We will wait until representatives of the three European states hand over their proposal. Then Iran will set forth its proposals during the meeting." "We should see whether the European proposal would secure the Iranian nation`s rights or not," he told parliamentary reporters. On Iran`s reaction towards proposals urging permanent suspension of the country`s uranium enrichment, he said Iran`s stands have been repeatedly announced. "We do not allow our legitimate right to be ignored," he stressed. "Proposals should be handed over to Iran in a formal and written form. We cannot make decisions on the basis of rumors," the Iranian foreign minister said. "We are not at all in favor of producing nuclear weapons. We are interested in having talks and try to settle the issue through negotiations and dialogue," he noted. 1422/1412
