Rezaei underlines development of nuclear technology

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Sept 22, IRNA -- The nation`s enemies are scared of Iran`s
nuclear technology but the youth can transform the country into the
most developed and strongest countries of the world, said Secretary of
the Expediency Council (EC) Mohsen Rezaei on Wednesday.
Speaking on the second day of the Sacred Defense Week, Rezaei
added that preventing Iran from developing nuclear technology reveals
the ill-intentions of the enemies, referring to the latest resolution
on Iran`s nuclear dossier the Vienna-based UN nuclear watchdog`s Board
of Governors released recently.
Iran`s Sacred Defense Week is the anniversary of the start of the
Iraqi imposed war against Iran, 1980-1988).
Eulogizing the courage of the war veterans in the 1980-1988
imposed war, he said if the values are undermined and those who carry
them are not safeguarded, threat and insecurity will be widespread.
Rezaei was speaking at a public gathering in the city of Najafabad
in the central province of Isfahan.
Pointing to the 8-year Iraqi-imposed war against Iran, he added,
"If the achievements of the country are not preserved, there will be
no security. Safeguarding the honors and continuing the devotions will
restore security and stability in our country."
He attached significance to the Islamic and revolutionary values
in the country, saying, "Even today, after a lapse of 15 years since
the end of the war, the interests and security of Iranian nation are
exposed to threat."
Criticizing those who question the braveries of the Iranian
nation, Rezaei underlined, "The Americans transformed Vietnam`s
invasion into a honorable invasion but question the braveries of the
Iranian nation during the years of the sacred defense to liberate
Iranian territories."
Today, Iran is considered as the only obstacle on the way of the
US in the region and the war veterans have created the obstacle, said
Rezaei.
