Iran denies resuming uranium enrichment process
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Sept 22, IRNA -- Iran dismissed as "baseless" certain Western media allegations about resumption of uranium enrichment program. Vice-President and Head of Iran`s Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Gholam-Reza Aqazadeh told a press conference here on Wednesday that Iran is capable of producing all centrifuge components and necessary conditions for injection of gas is prepared but it has not been carried out yet. Certain Western media, including Austrian and Swiss press, on Wednesday quoted Aqazadeh as saying that Iran had resumed uranium enrichment activities in defiance of the international community`s call. An Iranian informed source, taking part in the general conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in an interview with IRNA here on Wednesday called as "untrue" Western media claims about Iran. The source said as Aqazadeh has stressed, the tentative uranium process (yellow cake) and not uranium enrichment has started. The official, who requested not to be named, stressed that the uranium enrichment) process is still on hold and the suspension of the process has been confirmed by the IAEA. 1420/1412
