Berlin to continue diplomatic efforts to settle Iran nuclear issue
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Berlin, Sept 20, IRNA -- The German government and its European partners will continue their diplomatic efforts to resolve all remaining issues on Iran`s nuclear program. "The federal (German) government hopes that Iran would take advantage of this chance to remove all concerns regarding its nuclear program and thus contribute to a positive development," German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer was quoted as saying in a foreign ministry press statement here Monday. "Together with its partners, the federal (German) government wants to continue its intensive diplomatic efforts concerning this issue," he added. Berlin "welcomed" also the latest resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency`s (IAEA) Board of Governors which urged Iran to suspend all uranium enrichment and reprocessing-related activities by the November 25 IAEA Board of Governors` session. Tehran has made it clear that such a suspension would only be voluntary and would not be a legal obligation. Iran has reiterated its nuclear program was peaceful, calling on the IAEA Board of Governors to finally close its file. OT/1412
