France: gaining peaceful nuke technology, Iran`s right

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, June 23, IRNA-- Paris believes that Iran is entitled to the
right of achieving peaceful nuclear technology but says Tehran should
also continue its cooperation with the IAEA and its negotiations with
other countries to come clean with its related policies and attract
international trust, said a French official here Tuesday.
Serge Degallaix, political advisor to French Prime Minister, made
the remarks in a meeting with head of Iran`s parliament Commission on
National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Borujerdi before the
former`s departure to Paris on Wednesday morning.
Degallaix was member of a French high-ranking delegation which
was in Tehran since Monday to kick off the resumption of Paris-Tehran
flights by the French Air France after a seven-year suspension.
The delegation headed by Transport Minister of France left Tehran
on wednesday morning.
Referring to the resumption of the French flights to Tehran,
Degallaix expressed willingness of Paris to further promote relations
with Tehran.
The French official also discussed with Borujerdi about Paris
stands on different issues including Iran-France ties, nuclear
technology and the latest developments in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Responding Borujerdi`s severe criticism on Paris approach towards
the Iranian exiled terrorist group, People`s Mujahedin (Munafeqin),
Degallaix said that France considers the group as a terrorist
organization and took certain measures last year to stop its
activities in France.
He further noted that Paris would by no means allow Munafiqin to
commit any form of violation or crime in France.
As for Iraq, Degallaix said that Paris believes full sovereignty
should be given to the Iraqi people as soon as possible and added that
French officials have repeatedly notified the US on the issue.
Meanwhile, the Iranian side referred to the position of the
European big powers (Britain,France and Germany) at the latest session
of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors on
Iran`s nuclear plan.
Borujerdi noted that adopting such stands against Iran in the
future would affect Tehran`s relations with those involved in such
negative approach.
The European big trio penned a draft resolution on Iran`s nuclear
plan which was finally adopted by IAEA`s Board of governors last
Friday. The resolution deplored what it called "lack of Iran`s full
cooperation" with the UN nuclear watchdog.
