EC chairman urges access to peaceful nuclear technology

Tehran, June 14, IRNA -- Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani here Monday underlined Iran`s definite right for access to peaceful nuclear technology. A report released by EC Public Relations Department quoting Rafsanjani added that under the present critical conditions, the US is hatching new plots to stop Iran`s access to nuclear technology for peaceful applications. Speaking at a gathering of war veterans, he said that the seventh Majlis took office at a critical time when significant fateful decisions should be taken. Turning to the decisive role of war veterans in various fields, he said, "Given that the revolution was mainly developed to secure the interests of the public, Islam and Iran by relying on the people themselves, the originally set goals should be materialized in practice. 2326/1412
