Adel: Majlis defending national interest in nuclear issue

Tehran, June 11, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Haddad Adel here Friday 
said that Majlis` main concern in the nuclear issue is to defend the 
country`s national interest. 
Following the Friday prayers, he told IRNA that MPs of the 
seventh Majlis will also examine the international or foreign 
points on the issue, adding that the bottomline is to secure the 
national interest in the government`s position in discussions with 
the International Atomic Energy Agency. 
Concerning Majlis internal matters, he said that applications 
that have been filed by MPs for membership in parliamentary 
commissions are currently being examined in accordance with Majlis 
by-laws and final decisions will be taken next week. 
Turning to the steep price hikes and other economic problems of 
the country, the speaker said that hastily passed measures cannot 
provide quick solutions. 
To cite an example, he said that "in order to solve the cultural 
problems facing the community, the promotion of unethical or immoral 
models should first be tackled."
