IAEA regrets Iran`s dossier leaks - daily

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, June 8, IRNA -- Spokeswoman of the International Atomic
Energy Agency (IAEA) Melissa Fleming Monday regretted the fact
that parts of the reports compiled by IAEA Chief Mohamed ElBaradei
on Iran had been leaked.
"The truth is that the report was made available to the
member-states of the Board of Governors, who somehow made its
content available to the mass media of their corresponding
countries. These mass media published various articles about the
report while Iranian, American and European officials have also
reacted to this, thus creating a balance," wrote `Iran Daily` on
Tuesday quoting Fleming as saying.
She stressed that she could not comment on the Board of
Governors` upcoming decision on Iran`s nuclear dossier, the
English-language daily added.
"Different issues will be discussed in the board`s upcoming
meeting. The board will examine ElBaradei`s report on Libya and
Iran separately."
The board will discuss these two cases for two weeks, she said
adding, "It is possible that the board will issue a resolution. I
personally believe that the board`s member-states will continue to
discuss the details of Iran`s report."
Fleming verified that representatives from Iran would also be
present in the upcoming board meeting.
"Representatives from Iran have always been present at the
board`s meetings. Iran is not a member of the board, but its
representatives are always welcome to attend the board`s meetings,"
she said.
Elsewhere in her remarks, Fleming said Iran`s 1,000-page
declaration has not been yet analyzed, the daily noted.
"The IAEA has questions about certain issues, such as the issues
of uranium enrichment and the P2 centrifuge system. Iran has been
asked to elaborate on these issues and it has most probably done so
in the declaration. Therefore, the information presented in the
declaration should be analyzed which, in itself, is a time-consuming
process," she noted.
Fleming refrained from saying which member states of the Board
of Governors might call for a resolution on Iran in the upcoming
board meeting, said the daily.
