Iran denies reported transfer of missile test data to North Korea
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tokyo, May 29, Kyodo/OANA/IRNA -- The Iranian Embassy in Japan on Friday denied a recent report that North Korea may be getting missile test data from the Islamic Republic. "We strongly deny the report," carried by Kyodo News on Thursday, Hamid Sedeghi, the embassy`s press attache, said in a statement in Japanese addressed to Kyodo News. "We emphasize that there is no military cooperation between Iran and North Korea," he added. The report in question, datelined Washington, quoted a senior US administration official saying the United States is concerned North Korea may be getting missile test data from Iran, making the effectiveness of Pyongyang`s moratorium on missile test-launches doubtful. "We`ve been concerned that maybe the Iranians are sharing data about their tests with North Korea, perhaps in exchange for nuclear technology," the official told Kyodo News on condition of anonymity. 2322/1432
