Iran submits nuclear declarations to IAEA

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Vienna, May 22, IRNA -- The Islamic Republic of Iran has submitted the
the declarations of its nuclear programs to the director general of
the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said Iran`s Ambassador
to the UN`s nuclear watchdog Pirooz Hosseini here Saturday.
Speaking to IRNA, Hosseini underlined "We have submitted the
declarations under Article 2 of the Additional Protocol to
Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as a confidence-building measure and in
line with an understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and
the UN nuclear watchdog.
Hosseini stressed as per the request of the IAEA`s Director
General Mohamed El-Baradei during his recent visit to Tehran, Iran has
submitted the declarations to the UN earlier than the due time.
On the contents of the declarations, he said the documents include
reports on (Iran`s) nuclear researches and activities.
Iran`s ambassador to the UN nuclear watchdog rejected the news
aired by some media saying Iran requires more time to fully complete
its atomic report, saying, "Reports such as these are plain
propaganda. Notwithstanding such false reports, Iran continues its
effective and constructive cooperation with the IAEA."
