Asefi rejects US official`s anti-Iran statement on nuclear program
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Feb 3, IRNA -- Anti-Iran statement of US Under-Secretary of State Richard Armitage has nothing to do with reality and runs counter to the internationally recognized principles, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said on Tuesday. Asefi said that Armitage`s statement indicated that the United States looks at the international community distinctive of the international conventions and is pursuing its own agenda of dominance over the globe. "The US is expected to quit imposing its views on others and sabotaging Iran`s constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," he said. "The Islamic Republic of Iran is developing transparent cooperation with IAEA and is keen on the current process," Asefi said. Armitage in Tokyo on Monday appealed to the international community to find out a practical solution to monitor Iran`s nuclear program. 215/212 End
