IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Feb 1, Itar-Tass/ACSNA/IRNA -- Iran and Russia do not have major differences in the atomic energy cooperation, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Hamid Reza Asefi said on Sunday, referring to the forthcoming visit of Russian Atomic Energy Minister Alexander Rumyantsev to Teheran. "I do not know exactly the agenda of the future negotiations, but I can assure you that Iran and Russia do not have major differences in this respect," Asefi said. They only have to settle some technical problems in the construction of the nuclear power plant in Bushehr, "mostly the return of spent nuclear fuel to Russia," he said. As for the statement of Paul Bremer, the Administrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, that Al-Qaeda gunmen are penetrating into Iraq from Iran, Asefi said, the Iranian authorities are controlling the national borders and do not allow anyone to cross the border illegally. "If we arrest members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, they will be prosecuted in this country in line with the law," he said. /NB/210 End
