Iran`s nuclear program more transparent than Israel`s: ElBaradei
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Berlin, Jan 28, IRNA -- Iran has been more transparent regarding its nuclear program than Israel, the US website Global Viewpoint quoted the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammad ElBaradei as saying Wednesday. Asked about Iran`s nuclear program`s transparency in comparison to the Jewish state, ElBaradei answered, "Yes, Iran and Libya are cooperating. The challenge is to bring it (Israel) in." He stressed that an enduring nuclear disarmament regime in the Mideast `can only be based on equity`. "As we are seeing, a regime based on haves and have not will not long endure. An unbalanced security structure can`t last. Perfect security for one is perfect insecurity for another. You can`t ask Libya and Iran to give up all their nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, yet let Israel keep what it has." While Iran has agreed to voluntarily suspend its uranium enrichment program and sign the additional nuclear safeguards protocol, Israel has secretly stockpiled at least 200 nuclear bombs in addition to sophisticated chemical and biological weapons. 2051/AH/210 End
