IRNA
Moscow, Nov 29, Itar-Tass/ACSNA/IRNA -- The resolution on implementin in Iran the guarantees agreement related with the nuclear arms non-proliferation treaty the IAEA board of governors adopted in Vienna on Thursday might have been worded more precisely, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak told Tass in an interview. He remarked, though, it was a compromise expressing a common point of view. "It is important there is an on-going process and a new nature of relations between Iran and the IAEA. Under international agreements further work to lift all concerns from the Iranian nuclear program would be conducted through the IAEA. We believe such cooperation is very important, because it was made possible by a new quality of relations between the IAEA and Iran," Kislyak said. Moscow welcomes Iran`s decision to submit to the IAEA all information about its past activity in the nuclear sphere. "It was a major political step by a country that has made a decision to cooperate with the international community to ensure the maximum transparency its nuclear program," he said. IAEA Director General Mohammed ElBaradei said the resolution expressed support for efforts by the non-proliferation agency. He said the IAEA was still to carry out a great amount of work in Iran, including inspections, sample taking, and questioning of persons involved in the nuclear program. /AH/210 End
