US Failure on Iran`s nuclear program prompts it to new pretexts

IRNA

Tehran, Nov 28, IRNA -- Secretary of the Guardian Council (GC)
Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati here on Friday, said that despite the failure
of the US policy towards Iran`s nuclear activities and the examination
of the issue by the IAEA Board of Governors, the Americans have not
yet given up working at it.
The substitute leader of Tehran Friday prayer added that the US
has now brought up the issue of human rights violation in Iran and
assigning a representative to investigate the case.
"They consider the assessment of the backgrounds of Majlis
(Parliament) nominees and the arrest of culprits by the Judiciary
in Iran as violation of human rights, while their constant crimes in
Palestine do not seem to overlook such rights," he added.
Turning to the air raid against the Iraqi city of Sumera as an
example, he expressed the pity felt over the violated rights of the
oppressed people of Iraq and Palestine falling victim to such
atrocities.
"Once they fail to come up with any pretext to claim human rights
violation, they resort to the Middle East peace process and campaign
against terrorism to proceed with their intentions.
"Nonetheless, under the supervision of the Supreme Leader of the
Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and with the public
support, we have so long resisted such threats and will do so
hereafter," he added.
Pointing to the resolution issued by the IAEA and reiterating
the need to take caution in dealing with the issue, he said that the
document served to get Iran through a risky phase.
He noted that if the US succeeded to achieve its objectives to
the effect, Iran`s nuclear issue would have certainly been referred
to the UN Security Council and would have faced the country with
serious problems.
The senior cleric said, "Fortunately things turned out to favor
us and Iran`s right to get access to peaceful nuclear technology was
confirmed."
Insisting that Iran has never favored warmongering policies, he
said, "We do our best to avoid the breakout of any conflict. However,
if we come under the enemies` attacks, we shall defend ourselves."
Thanking the Qods-day ralliers, he stressed the decisive role of
such demonstrations in defiance of the domestic and foreign
mischievous rumors spread by those who dream of a substitute for the
Islamic rule.
Felicitating the Basij (volunteer forces) Week, Jannati said that
the presence of Basij forces on the scene helps to tackle the enemies`
desire to violate Iran.
