Russia calls nuclear cooperation with Iran as non-political

Moscow, Nov 27, IRNA -- Russian foreign ministry in a statement issued here Thursday called the existing nuclear cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia as non-political. According to the statement, the resolution issued by the IAEA Board of Governors on Wednesday while voicing concern over Iran`s nuclear activities in the past, underlines that Iran`s transparent and active cooperation with IAEA at present. The new resolution also defined the IAEA policies of making clear the untapped questions, it said. Russia hopes that the new resolution would serve to prepare the grounds for further cooperation between IAEA and the Islamic Republic of Iran and help prevent the politicization of the issue, the Russian foreign ministry said. The IAEA Board of Governors is to discuss the transparency of Iran`s nuclear activities in its next meeting slated for March 2004, said the statement. MM/212 End
