Iran hands report on stopping uranium enrichment activity to IAEA

Vienna, Nov 10, IRNA -- Iranian government`s official letter stating its readiness to sign the additional protocol of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has been submitted to Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammad ElBaradei. Iran`s permanent representative office at the IAEA said the letter had been submitted to ElBaradei by Iran`s permanent envoy to the agency, Ali-Akbar Salehi on Monday, November 10. The letter states Iran`s official stance on suspension of uranium enrichment activities. Based on the voluntary measure, which is another step towards international confidence-building, the Islamic Republic of Iran would start suspending the process of uranium enrichment activities as of Tuesday, November 11, said the representative office. 216/AH/210 End
