Khatami terms unfair IAEA resolution on Iran

Putrajaya, Malaysia, Oct 17, IRNA -- President Khatami said on Friday that Iran sees the IAEA resolution on Iran as unfair and finds its content deficient in technical and legal terms. Addressing dozens of foreign journalists on the sidelines of OIC summit, he said however that Iran has not yet decided on ending or curbing cooperation with the UN`s nuclear agency. President Khatami pointed to the very dangerous nature of Weapons of Mass Destruction and their proliferation for the world and stressed that Iran has always been for elimination of such weapons in the region and in the world. Khatami also said that security, territorial integrity and national sovereignty are crucial subjects to Iran, adding that Iran is against production and proliferation of nuclear arms according to its Islamic and national thoughts and also its support for the notion of "coalition for peace". Asked about his Thursday talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Khatami called as good the two-way relations in economic and political affairs and said both countries have common interests in the sensitive regions of Caucasus and central Asia. He added that bilateral relation have been bolstered during Putin`s presidency. Khatami noted that during their talks , the two sides stressed continuation of the completion works of the Bushehr nuclear power plant. 211/211 End
