Iranian, Chinese commanders of popular forces hold security talks

Beijing, Oct 10, IRNA -- Commander of the Basij (volunteer forces)
of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General
Mohammad Hejazi and Chinese Commander of popular forces Fan Shiao
Guang here Friday held talks on the security matters.
Hejazi who is visiting China at the head of a ranking delegation
on an invitation extended to him by Chinese popular army called for
the boosted cooperation between the popular forces foundations of Iran
and China in such areas as the exchange of expertise and know-how.
The sides discussed ways of promoting a popular mobilization to
guarantee public security, protect the national bordersand, counter
the crises, violence, crimes and act in time of natural disasters.
In his stay in Beijing, Hejazi and his accompanying party got
cquainted with the organization, missions and equipment and
facilities used by the Chinese popular forces.
The sides also debated on the ways and means to manage in the
best manner the popular forces in addressing the crises threatening
national security, holding of training courses and other topics of
mutual interest.
The Iranian delegation is to have a tour of the Chinese popular
task forces and permanent units in the east and south of the country.
It is also to be briefed on the Chinese popular forces`
activities in protecting national borders, equipment and facilities .
The delegation arrived in China on October 9.
