Expert says implementation of UN atomic watchdog` decision on Iran impossible
IRNA
Vienna, Sept 12, IRNA -- An Iranian nuclear energy expert participating the session of the UN governing council in Vienna said on Friday the implementation of the resolution agreed upon by the UN nuclear watchdog on Iran is impossible within the pre-set deadline. According to the resolution adopted on Friday session of the IAEA governing council, Iran has to give answers to all questions raised on its nuclear program by the end of october. The expert who declined to be identified said the governing council resolution is politically motivated and the IAEA experts, like the Iranian side, are quite convinced that he resolution could by no means be translated into action within the pre set deadline. In the meantime, the Japanese experts in the bilateral talks with the Iranian delegation in Vienna said Japan has acceded to the additional protocol and has allowed surprise visits to its sites but no report has been provided revealing any illegal activities in its atomic sites. The 35-member board of governors adopted a resolution giving Iran until October 31 to prove it is not seeking secretly to develop nuclear weapons. The resolution submitted by Western countries calls on Tehran to clarify its nuclear program by the end of October and to suspend all its uranium enrichment activities. HB/214 End
